Just fly the plane

Yesterday I got to go back to El Paso! Yeah!! Haha it was so weird being down there again and knowing the area we were in better than my companion. But we got to have zone conference down there and it was amazing as expected(:

President Miller told us about this experience he had flying airplanes. (I was pretty sure he was turning into President Uchtdorf haha) He was telling this story of a time when he was out of control of the plane. The plane was spinning every which way. He remembers flying straight up, straight down, upside down and every direction you can think of. When he was in such turmoil he remembered the one thing his trainer told him. "When you don't know what to do just fly the plane. When turbulence gets crazy just fly the plane." He related it back to doing the things we were taught to do by our trainers and going back to the basics of missionary work but I kinda took a different spin on it.

As I was sitting there thinking about it I began to think of the basics in the gospel. Such as reading the scriptures, saying our prayers, going to church, going to the temple, doing family home evening and so on and so forth. That in times of trial sometimes we forget the most important things. We start trying to overcompensate. We think that there's got to be some huge elaborate thing that is so intricate that we have to do in order to find peace in our lives and to find that order again. But in reality we just need to fly the plane. Do the simple things. Those simple things are the basics of our beliefs. We need to go back to the primary answers and ask ourselves if we are doing those things. For those things truly are the things that keep our planes flying in the direction that they need to be in order to find strength and peace. In order to make it back to the presence of God.

I want to challenge all of you to look at your life. Weather it seems as if all is in complete chaos or you seem to be doing just fine and ask yourself are you trying to overcompensate or are you flying the plane? Are you doing those things that will keep your foundation in Jesus Christ strong or are you missing the mark? Then do something about it. Today strive to be a little better. Work on one thing that you are struggling with and commit yourself to do better. I promise you will find more peace and purpose in your life.

LOVE YOU ALL.

It was time for me to get transferred ): I'm gonna miss El Paso so much! But It's alright I am only 45 minutes north in Las Cruces!! I am super excited!! I am now a Sister Training Leader and over two family wards. This is gonna get crazy but I am super duper excited! I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for me and the people in the Las Colinas and Desert Hills wards(:

I love love love this gospel with everything that I am. I was reading in the scriptures and I came across this verse that pretty much describes it. It reads "...For this is my life and my light, and my joy and my salvation, and my redemption from everlasting wo...." (Alma 26:36) And I realized that it is so true. This gospel is everything. It is a part of me like nothing else. It truly is my life and my joy. I love being able to have the opportunity to share what makes me so happy.

A little while ago I was struggling with the desire to serve. I knew it was what the Lord needed of me but I lacked the desire. I prayed and prayed and prayed for the desire. And wow does the Lord answer prayers or what? I realized why I was serving. I realized that the atonement is everything. That this gospel is everything and without it, without the saving ordinances we cannot make it back to live with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and our families for all eternity. I realized how happy this gospel makes me and all of a sudden that desire came. I wanted to share this with everyone. Every single person I saw I wanted to be able to have that lasting happiness and joy.

I know that Heavenly Father truly does answer prayers that He cares about each one of us individually and wants us to be able to succeed gloriously. My MTC branch president told us one day that "God didn't call you to fail but he called you to succeed gloriously." Isn't that true for all of us? He didn't send us to the earth the fail but the succeed gloriously and he has given us all the tools to do so. But we need to do our part and hold on to those things. Hold on to the truths that will help us receive exaltation and eternal life. It doesn't just come. Nothing in the church or life just come. We have to work at them. I challenge you to continue to work. Continue to become the person Heavenly Father wants you to be.

I love you all and hope you have the best day ever!!

With Faith There is No Room for Doubt

Ken's baptism(:

Dana carrying me around like
a dead person haha
This week Ken got baptized!! It was seriously the most elect person I have ever met in my entire life! The first time we met him we would ask him a question and he would end up teaching us the principle. It was seriously the craziest thing ever. After he was baptized he came up out of the water and you could see in his eyes how much he knew this was true. He was glowing. He stayed in the font for about 2 minutes just contemplating and the spirit was so strong. You could not deny it. He has such a strong testimony and he was been wanting to be baptized for a long time but he wanted to be baptized in the correct church. When he met with us he said he knew instantly that we were the only true church on the face of the earth. He truly has been amazing to teach! So amazing.

This week I was reading in Alma. Once again. Haha I'm almost done I promise! But I was reading about the 2000 stripling warriors. We all know the scripture where it talks about them not fearing death and all my life I was convinced the reason they didn't fear death was because they knew what happens after death. This time as I read through the story I realized something completely different. They didn't fear death but it wasn't necessarily because they weren't afraid of dying but because they had the faith that Heavenly Father would protect them. "...yea they had been taught by their mothers that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them."
I love that phrase so much. They did not doubt. They had 100% faith in the Lord and faith that the lord would bring miracles into their life. But they also knew that the second they allowed doubt to creep into their minds the miracles would cease. They knew that because of their faith they would have God on their side. Because of their faith they would be blessed for allowing and helping their parents keep their covenants.
In our own lives its the exact same thing. Do we allow our faith to carry us? Do we know that by our faith miracles come. By our faith we can accomplish all that the Lord has in store for us. But in those moments that we allow doubt to creep in it's then that we stumble and fall.

I want to challenge you all to strengthen your faith. To rely on the Savior and expect blessings and miracles to come through your faith. Love you all have the best week ever! OH WHO WENT TO THE TEMPLE?! If you didn't go this week!!

Love Sister Wade
