TRICK or TREAT?!

Look what someone sent to me today!! I always love a spontaneous picture from someone wherever Kelsey is!! It makes my day!!
                      Hey Sister Wade...
               Here is your cutie pie of a daughter!!!

HaPpY HaLlOwEeN!

So, I don't have much time but this week has been an amazing week full of so many miracles and opportunities to learn and become more like our Savior.

This past week Sister Orton and I have been ponderizing a verse in the Book of Mormon. It is Alma 37:45 and it reads
"And now I say, is there not a type in this thing? For just as surely as this director did bring our fathers, by following its course, to the promised land, shall the words of Christ, if we follow their course, carry us beyond this vale of sorrow into a far better land of promise."

I really really love this verse though because it tells us that the Lord really does have a way prepared for us to inherit our own land of promise. He has given us all of the tools so that we can have something far better than we ourselves could ever imagine. But just because he has given us the tools and showed us the path it is up to us to act and to take it. We are going to have struggles. Like it says we have to go through our own vale of sorrow. We have to conquer it but if we follow the course that is set before us our Father in Heaven promises us something far better. Something we couldn't even imagine.

Well, love you all lots and hope today is the best and you get lots of candy.(: Send some my way if you wouldn't mind(;

The Joy that was set before Him

The Atonement is so real.

This week I have been able to see the Atonement work in so many different ways. I have seen it help a Sister go from not believing in God to coming to church on Sunday and knowing that this is where she needs to be, and knowing why we need church and why we go every week. I have been able to see it in a brand new missionary who has changed so much from day one to day 7. I have seen it in my life as I have been able to forgive and try again. The Atonement is there and it truly is the strengthening and enabling power that we receive. It is the only reason we can keep going. It is only through the Atonement we can change.

In Hebrews 12:1-2 it reads
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

We had to memorize this scripture a couple of months ago but something hit me this week as I was studying the Atonement. What Christ had to go through was hard. It was excruciatingly hard and I can't even begin to fathom all that He went through. But in this verse it says. "For the Joy that was set before Him, endured the cross" Because He knew what Joy it would bring us what joy it would bring Him to be able to see us again He endured the cross. He suffered the Atonement so that we could have that joy. So that we could be united with our families. So that everyday we could become someone better. We could use the gift that He gave us and change.

I know how true that is. Our Heavenly Father and Savior love us so much. And they want us to find joy in this life. So much that they were willing to give all that they had to us so we could change and find that lasting joy. I love this gospel with everything that I am and I want you to know that Your Savoir is aware and He knows trust Him and turn to Him.

Love,
Sister Wade
