Zone Conference

This week I have kind of been on an Elder Holland spree and reading every talk I have of his (so if you have any good suggestions on favorite talks of his fill me in ASAP!) And there was something that I just loved about the talk Safety for the Soul. 

"For 179 years this book has been examined and attacked, denied and deconstructed, targeted and torn apart like perhaps no other book in modern religious history—perhaps like no other book in any religious history. And still it stands...None of these frankly pathetic answers for this book has ever withstood examination because there is no other answer than the one Joseph gave as its young unlearned translator. In this I stand with my own great-grandfather, who said simply enough, “No wicked man could write such a book as this; and no good man would write it, unless it were true and he were commanded of God to do so.”

Wow, think about that. The Book of Mormon has been attacked and targeted for years on end and yet still it stands. It stands and I stand with it. As I was reading this talk my own testimony of the Book of Mormon was reiterated and strengthened. I know that it doesn't matter how many people were to attack the Book of Mormon. It doesn't matter how many people would try to shake me from my faith in it and I know that like Jacob " I could not be shaken" (Jacob 7:5) I know without a shadow of a doubt that the Book of Mormon truly is His word. It is what ties families together. It was what gives strength, peace and comfort in a world that is raging and comfortless. I know that our Heavenly Father loves each of us so dearly that he wants us so badly to return to live with Him. So badly. And He has given us the tools to do it. The Book of Mormon being one of the many.

I want to challenge you though to look at where you are. Could you stand with Elder Holland in saying that you know the Book of Mormon is true? If you're not quite there yet pray and ask for the confirmation from the Holy Ghost that it is. I promise it will change your life. It has mine.
