He Has a Plan for YOU. Trust Him

This week I learned one main thing. Heavenly Father has a plan for me specifically. I just need to TRUST HIM.

I was reading in the Ensign this week and I came across the talk "Your Next Step" that was given during the priesthood session of conference and man this talk changed my life. (Drop what you are doing and go read it) In this talk it talks about taking your next step through Christ and relying fully on Him. Turning our will over to Him. "We will, not, we cannot, fail if we are faithfully yoked to the Savior--He who has never failed and will never fail us!"

A couple of weeks ago I had a prompting to do something that was really hard for me and I really struggled with it. I kept falling back on that "what if's" and I kept doubting the prompting. As I was reading this talk I realized how much I was actually doubting my Savior. I didn't know if what He had asked me to do was right. I loved this quote so much because it is so so SO true. The savior of the world has never failed, so why would he fail you now? Why would he ask us to do hard things if He didn't know we could over come them and that they were for our benefit?

Something that we teach investigators is about the Plan of Happiness. How our Heavenly Father loves us so much and wants us to be happy. He has an entire plan for us that is designed to make us happy. He knows each one of us so personally that he knows how to make us happy. He knows what we need in our lives at this very moment that is going to make us happiest in the long run. But with him knowing everything and knowing what things in life we are going to need to become like Him we must trust Him.

Trusting is hard. I know it is because sometimes I struggle with it more than I'd like to admit. Especially these last couple of weeks, But something I love is that we are trusting someone who knows the end result. He knows our desires and our hearts and he knows what things we need to do to achieve exaltation and that eternal happiness. He knows us and he knows what we need to be happy. We just need to TRUST HIM.

Going back to that quote from conference I love that it says we cannot fail. When we are trusting our Savior fully and giving our will to Him we cannot fail. It is impossible to fail. When we trust him so fully we cannot fail. Even when He asks us to do hard things. Moroni 7:33 it reads "if ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me." Wow if we trust Him and have faith that he knows best He will give us that power to do whatsoever thing he asks of us. He promises us that we can do those hard things he asks us to do as long as we trust Him. For "I know in whom I have trusted." (2 Nephi 4:19)

He has a plan for you. He loves you so much. TRUST HIM. When he asks you to do hard things trust that he knows what you need to accomplish those hard things and that all will work together for your benefit. He loves you.

FUN FACTS:
We may have gotten a cat stuck in our engine and we may have asked a stranger to help us and he may have taken part of our car apart to get the cat out and we may have had a small-ish child get in the hood of the car to get the cat out. But just maybe....
97% of the people I met this week were named Robert. I literally could have started the conversation, "Hi, I'm Sister Wade, let me guess your name is Robert?" and they would have said yes. Haha

Sorry El Paso the Wind Storm Was Our Fault....

ANNNNDDDDDD OUR NEW COMPANION IS..........SISTER RACKLEY!! She was serving in the UTEP East side but they took both her and her companion out of the area and put Elders in that area (I now owe my last zone leader ice cream because I may have lost a bet with him about that. I thought he was getting put in the UTEP East but he didn't) but Sister Rackley's companion went up north and she joined us(:

The Lord works in mysterious ways. And this week He worked through the wind.

The wind was blowing super super bad yesterday. We were headed to contact a referral name Stephanie, and I am convinced had we not had our trio our car would have blown away haha. So when we got to the house we ran as fast as we could to the door and knocked. Her mom answered and said Stephanie wasn't going to be home until Thursday. Which was super disappointing but her mom pulled us inside and told us it was too cold to be outside and that she was going to make us hot chocolate. So naturally we agreed. haha. We had a great discussion with her and then when the hot chocolate was done cooking she brought out cookies and nuts and bananas and all sorts of food and left us at the table. All. Alone. Which was super awkward. She also gave us way more than we could eat, but because she was Hispanic it is rude to not eat something so we may have stuffed my pockets full of the food we couldn't eat haha. but we hurried and ate our food (or as much as we could) and the second we finished, the door flew open and Stephanie walked through the door. She was on her way to Mexico but because of the wind storm she came home early. We taught her the first lesson and it was amazing!! The spirit was so strong! I can't even describe it! SHE IS LITERALLY GOLDEN THOUGH!!

Then the second we walked out of her house the wind stopped. The wind was such a tender mercy. If it wasn't for the wind her mom would not have invited us inside. If it wasn't for the wind Stephanie would not have come home when she did. If it wasn't for the wind who knows when we would have gotten a hold of Stephanie. The Lord gives us so much better than we deserve. I know that He was looking out for us and for Stephanie that day.

This story reminds me of the time that Jesus calmed the sea of Galilee and after He did so he asked "How is it ye have no faith?" Sometimes we forget that the Lord is all knowing and everything works together for our good. Everything is in His hands. We just need to remember that. This is His work. This is His plan. He has a plan and He is preparing a way for us to accomplish the things that lay ahead.

He has a plan for you! Don't ever lose faith in that. He knows you and knows how to strengthen you and how to make you the person you can one day become.

I love you all and I love this gospel with every fiber in my being!! I am never coming home from my mission though just by the way.... haha

And Then There Were Three....

Nov. 9, 2015
Tomorrow is transfer day and we are getting A THIRD SISTER!! AHHH! We are so excited!! Except for the fact that our apartment is teeny tiny so all of our three beds will look like one giant bed because there is no room in the apartment haha but this is going to be so great! I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for UTEP West(:

We taught Monica again this week and she committed to a baptism date!! Ahhh! I am so excited for her. She is definitely one of these "golden investigators" everyone talks about. Every time we teach her she tells us how "The gospel just feel like home." I hope I am still here to watch her be baptized. She is going out of town and wont have time until January to be baptized so fingers crossed I will still be here.

Oh speaking of baptisms. Our other investigator that was supposed to be baptized on the 7th wasn't going to be there on Sunday to receive the Holy Ghost so we had to move his date back until the 21st which was really sad but he is still getting baptized and that is all that matters right?

This week during person study time I realized how much I truly love the mission. I love being able to see people the way our Savior sees them. I love being so spiritually in tune with the spirit to receive revelation for this area Heavenly Father has placed me in. I love teaching people about the Atonement and how it can change their life.

I was reading in 1 Nephi 17:51 and I absolutely love this scripture. It says 'And now, if the Lord has such great power, and has wrought so many miracles, among the children of men, how is it that he cannot instruct me, that I should build a ship?" I love this verse because how true is that. The Lord as brought to pass so many mighty miracles why should we ever think that he wouldn't help us accomplish the things he has asked us to? Or why should we ever think he won't help us overcome a trial we are having?

He is a God of miracles and wants to help each one of us return to live with Him again. If he can do all that he has done why can he not help us? Or why would he not help us? "For behold this is my work and my glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man" (Moses 1:39) He glories in us when we are becoming more like him and when we are overcoming our trials. So why would he not help us overcome them? Trust Him. Turn to Him and let Him help you. He can and wants to help you succeed.(:

I love you all and hope you have the best day of your entire life!(:

FUN FACTS:
1. Our investigator that is on baptism date asked our district leader if he could date me.... haha so that was funny.
2. Our zone leaders dropped by for a random "visit of love" and brought us a GIANT SUPER THICK carrot cake which I am convinced we will never be able to eat all of it.
3. Sister Ingold has a 100% rate of guessing what is going to happen with transfers.

The Atonement is Spelling C.H.A.N.G.E.

This week has been the best and worst week of my entire life. The lows were so low but I would go through those lows 100 times more to have just a glimpse of the highs that I had this week over again.

plan of Salvation and giving
out Halloween candy outside the Insitute

Me, Monica her friend Shannon, and Sis Ingold

This week I learned that the Atonement is spelled C.H.A.N.G.E. When we are changing and becoming more like our Savior we are using the Atonement. When we start reading our scriptures again we are using the Atonement. When we start having family home evening we are using the Atonement. When we follow the commandments with more exactness we are using the Atonement. The Atonement is everywhere. So many of us think that the Atonement is only there for us when we sin. But that is not true. I have learned that the Atonement literally is the center of Heavenly Father's plan because without it we could not progress.

So many of us are afraid of change. We like what we like and how we like it. But that is not our Father in Heavens plan. He doesn't want us to stay exactly the same. If that was the plan there would be no purpose in us coming to earth. We would literally be here to waste time and get a body. Yes, getting a body was a huge part of our purpose to come to earth but it doesn't stop there. Part of our purpose here on earth is to use the Atonement and by using the Atonement we become like Him.

We talk a lot about how on a mission you are constantly ripped from your comfort zone. You were comfortable at home and then you get thrown into the MTC. You were comfortable in the MTC then you get set to a new place with a new culture. Then when you are just barely comfortable in your area you are sent to a new area with new people and a new companion and this happens every six weeks. Why is it they don't want to leave us in our comfort zone? A mission is hard enough being ripped from the first comfort zone of home why does it have to happen again and again? It happens again and again because when we get comfortable we stop changing. We stop progressing and using the Atonement to the fullest capacity that we can. People always say you grow so much on your mission and it is so true. But you grow so much because you are constantly being thrown outside of your comfort zone and in doing so you must learn to change. You must learn to rely on the Atonement.

I love that our Heavenly Father gave us this plan. This perfect plan. That by using the Atonement we go from good people to better and from better people to best and, even though we won't make it in this life but the Atonement makes it possible for us to be perfect like our Father in Heaven as well. Everything goes back to the Atonement.

You don't have to be a missionary to use the Atonement. You don't have to change your environment every six weeks to use to Atonement. The only thing you need to do is be willing to change. Be willing to give your will to the Father.

We have an investigator that is such an amazing example of this. Her name is Monica and she has only had 2 lessons with us but she is already experiencing amazing blessing from the Atonement. She came to church for the first time on Sunday and she told me that she had no clue what LDS people wore to church so she googled it. While reading it she learned about modesty and so she changed her wardrobe right then. She wanted to change and so she did so. She wanted to use the Atonement so she gave her will to the Father and was willing to change through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

This week I want to challenge you to see one thing in your life that you could use the Atonement with. One thing that you can change to become more like our Father in Heaven.

I love this gospel with everything that I am. I love that I can be changed through the Atonement because I don't want to be the person I was before my mission. I want to continue to use the Atonement and grow to the person my Father in Heaven knows I can. But I can't do it without Him. Rely on Him. Trust Him.

THIS CHURCH IS SO TRUE!
